Tottenham have turned their attention to Manchester City in their search for attacking reinforcements. The London club are exploring the possibility of signing both Savinho and Omar Marmoush before the transfer window closes.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, nothing has been finalised, but talks between Tottenham and Manchester City are reportedly at an advanced stage. Spurs want to strengthen their attack significantly, and the City duo are central to their plans. Reports of the ongoing talks have also been backed up by several British media outlets.
Savinho still high on the wishlist
Tottenham's interest in Savinho is not new. The club also tried to sign the Brazilian last summer, but Manchester City opted to keep the winger on that occasion. Savinho later signed a new contract running until 2031.
The 22-year-old had limited opportunities to start in the Premier League last season, and Tottenham now see another chance to complete a deal.
Savinho was also absent from Manchester City's matchday squad when they lost 3–0 to Arsenal in the Community Shield. Marmoush, however, was involved, coming on as a substitute after the break.
Marmoush also a target
Tottenham are also exploring the possibility of signing Omar Marmoush.
The Egypt international joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025. Before his move to England, he had scored 37 goals in 67 appearances for the German club. Last season, he started eight Premier League matches for City and finished with eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions.
Marmoush can play in several attacking roles and could therefore give Tottenham further flexibility going forward.
Looking to sign more attacking players
Spurs appear to be planning a major overhaul of their attack before the transfer window closes. Sky Sports reports that the club's ideal end to the window would involve signing three new attacking players.
Savinho is among the main targets, while Liverpool's Cody Gakpo is also being considered. Tottenham also want a new striker, with both Marmoush and Chelsea's Pedro Neto among the names being discussed.
Tottenham have already spent significant sums this summer, but their activity in the transfer market does not appear to be over.
If the club succeed in signing both Savinho and Marmoush from Manchester City, it would represent another major investment – and give Tottenham two very different attacking weapons before the new Premier League season gets fully under way.
Neither deal is in place yet, but negotiations between the clubs are ongoing.
